In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life”. It is considered one of the oldest traditional systems of holistic medicine with origins in India dating back to more than 5,000 years, and is still practiced today in modern India.

Ayurveda approaches health through a preventative lens in order to address the root cause of imbalances that can lead to unhappiness, suffering, or possibly disease. Considering a person as a whole, Ayurveda is a relationship of our inner and outer nature and provides us with health and lifestyle choices to support our natural state of self-harmony within our unique constitution. With its knowledge stemming from ancient scriptures of the Vedic culture, like its sister branch of Yoga, Ayurveda is a philosophy and way of living. It is holistic in its perspective of balancing mind, body, and spirit for prevention of disease and maintenance of health for longevity.
